The Simple Truth About Your Privacy

Whatever you type into our tools stays in your browser — passwords, documents, health data, financial figures. None of it is sent to any server. That's not just a policy, it's how the tools are built.

We do use Cloudflare to measure page visits (which tools are popular, how many people visit). But page analytics only know a page was visited — they have no access to what you type into any tool. These are two completely separate things.

Our Commitment to Privacy

At ToolZone, privacy is not just a feature—it's our foundation. We believe your data belongs to you, and you alone. That's why we've built ToolZone to operate entirely in your browser, with zero data collection or server-side processing from our end.

Your Tool Inputs Are Completely Private

Whatever you enter into any ToolZone tool is processed entirely on your device and never transmitted anywhere. This is a hard technical guarantee — not just a policy promise.

  • Passwords you generate stay in your browser
  • Files you convert or compress never reach any server
  • Health data, financial figures, and calculations never leave your device
  • Text you paste, encode, or analyze is never transmitted
  • No accounts required, no data tied to you

We do monitor site usage — which pages are visited, how many people use the site — but that is entirely separate from your tool inputs. See "Site Analytics vs Tool Privacy" below.

Local Storage

ToolZone saves some data in your browser's local storage to improve your experience. This data never leaves your device — it is not synced, transmitted, or accessible to us.

  • Theme preference — your light/dark mode choice
  • Favorite tools — tools you've starred for quick access
  • Calculation history — recent inputs and results for tools that support history (typically the last 30 results per tool), so you can restore them without retyping. Only saved locally, never sent anywhere.
  • Tool settings — per-tool preferences such as display format or unit defaults

All of this is stored entirely on your device and is completely under your control. You can clear it anytime through your browser settings.

How Our Tools Work

All calculations, conversions, and operations happen entirely in your browser. Your data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party services.

File Uploads

Tools that accept file uploads (images, PDFs, spreadsheets) load your files into your browser's memory solely for processing. No file content is ever transmitted to any server.

  • Files are processed entirely within your browser tab
  • Uploaded files are automatically discarded from memory when you navigate away or close the tab
  • Nothing is written to disk beyond the output file you explicitly download

Link Sharing & Clipboard

Some tools allow you to share your current inputs via a link. When you click Copy Link, your tool inputs are encoded into the URL. This URL only leaves your device if you actively choose to share it — nothing is sent automatically or stored on our servers.

Some tools also offer a Copy button to write a result to your clipboard. We only ever write to your clipboard — we never read from it.

Site Analytics vs Tool Privacy

These are two completely different things. Here's exactly what our analytics can and cannot see:

What analytics sees

  • "Someone visited the Password Generator"
  • "500 people used the BMI Calculator today"
  • General country/region of visitor
  • Device type (mobile or desktop)

What analytics cannot see

  • The password you generated
  • Your weight, height, or health data
  • Files you uploaded or converted
  • Any value you typed into a tool

Analytics services operate at the page level. They know a page was visited. They have zero access to what happens inside the tool — because all processing happens locally in your browser, never touching any server.

Third-Party Services

While ToolZone itself doesn't collect data, we use third-party services that may collect information:

  • Google AdSense: We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
  • Cloudflare: Our website is hosted on Cloudflare and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It sees which pages were visited, general visitor location (country/region), and device type. Cloudflare has no access to anything you type into our tools — it only knows a page was visited, not what you did on it. No personally identifiable information is collected. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

ToolZone itself does not use cookies. However, third-party advertising partners may use cookies for ad personalization and measurement. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Since ToolZone itself collects no personal data, we have nothing to access, delete, or transfer on your behalf. However, if you are located in the European Union or California, you have rights over data collected by the third-party services we use (Google AdSense, Cloudflare):

  • Right to access — request a copy of data they hold about you
  • Right to deletion — request erasure of your data
  • Right to opt out — opt out of personalized advertising via Google's Ads Settings or your browser's cookie controls
  • Right to portability — request your data in a portable format (applies to third-party services)

Exercise these rights directly with the respective third-party service using the links in the "Third-Party Services" section above.

Children's Privacy

ToolZone is safe for all ages. Since we don't collect any personal information, there are no special considerations for children's use of our tools.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
